car racing games in pc

A memorable racing title is built on four pillars: a satisfying sense of speed;

Graphics that sell the speed of the car and create an enjoyable game world; strict control; and excellent sound effects and cruising music.

It doesn’t matter if the genre is arcade, sim or kart; If a racing game masters those elements, it will go down in history as one of the greats. The question is, which PC games qualify? Our list ranks some of the winner-circle games out of several runners-up.

Best racing games to play on PC

Apart from shooting games, car racing games often provide us with action, and a lot of things happen before our eyes. These games include some of the best cars in the world that you can drive at your own pace, and if you like some fast-paced games, and have what it takes to play them, you’ve come to the right place.

As you drive your super-fast car down the road, tires spinning, engine roaring, and dirt and mud all over the place, is that badass enough for you? I feel very good! Step on your throttle, because below is my list of 5 best car racing games for PC.

1. Forza Horizon 5

With Phil’s review of Forza Horizon 5 (opens in new tab), he zooms in on the level of refinement that has happened in the Forza series. No drastic changes have been made to the latest entry in the series, but a subtle level of craftsmanship is on display.

The playground team has spent countless hours polishing the hoods of 500 cars until they shine, and the same is true of the atmosphere in the new setting: Mexico. The seasonal playlist is present and prominent from the start, which forms the heart of the gameplay.

You’ll find yourself facing unexpected challenges, and using your entire stable of cars in search of new rare additions, as Phil said: “We’ve had a lot of robber shooters, but Forza Horizon is slowly at first. The looter is turning into a racer.”

2. Need for Speed Heat

Need for Speed: Heat is a thrilling racing game that mostly nails the elements that made previous NFS entries so successful: solid racing mechanics, excellent car customization options, and over-the-top police chases.

The game has a cool day-night mechanic that lets you indulge in bright, daytime racing scenes as well as high-stakes, underground racing at night. Palm City looks great in any light, and adds visual variety to the game.

The character customization and improved narrative also make the game more enjoyable than some of the previous entries, despite the weak multiplayer mode and some obscure controls. Fans of the series should not hesitate to pick it up.

3. SHIFT 2

Shift 2 may be the best compromise between the realism and accessibility of any game on this list. It’s not only the way the car handles – dangerous, but capable – but the way it constantly thinks about what players need to perform at a high level.

Instead of closing your scene by gazing at the hood, or asking you to spring for the TrackIR to turn your head, the Shift 2 has a dynamic scene that changes subtly based on context.

Coming to a gentle right-hand corner, your view changes slightly as your driver avatar looks on top. For a sharp corner, your view swings a bit more, so you get a feel for what you’re driving, yet it doesn’t distract at all. It seems natural.

4. F1 Mobile Racing

Is it your dream to compete with top drivers like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton? If yes, then get ready to turn your dream into reality with F1 Mobile Racing. The game is developed by a fantasy sports app development company.

The official game of the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship is all set to offer intense racing action against top opponents. You can even design the F1 car of your dreams to dominate the grid.

So, gear up to witness the console-quality campaign and incredible racing environment. In addition, the game supports real-time multiplayer that allows you to play against players from all over the world.

5. Dirt Rally 2

Since its launch in 2019, Dirt Rally 2 has produced a slew of great content across four unique seasons.

It’s all available in the Game of the Year Edition—which is arguably the best way to experience off-road racer—though the affordable base game is still worthy of a few laps around the muddy track.

Throughout both the single-player career and online multiplayer modes, you’ll travel around the world on real-world circuits as you battle for first place. Its lively venues make it one of the most impressive looking racing games on the market, and there’s no better way to get your off-roading fix than with Dirt Rally 2.
