Frank Gore charged in alleged domestic violence incident

Well, the news that’s coming out on Frank Gore right now is crazy. Last month, during a brawl in Atlantic City, New Jersey, a behind-the-scenes veteran allegedly dragged a naked woman by her hair into a hotel hallway.

According to a news release issued Tuesday by the Atlantic City Police Department, officers responded to a call in Tropicana Atlantic City on July 31 and found a 28-year-old woman speaking with hotel security. The woman “did not show signs of injury” and no complaint was filed at the time.

After a police investigation, however, charges were brought against Gore, the NFL’s No. 3 all-time rusher with 16,000 yards.

A simple assault charge means that there was either bodily injury, or a threat of bodily injury was made.

Gore, 39, was issued a police summon to answer the charge at some future date.

TMZ reported Wednesday, citing court documents, that Gore grabbed the woman by the hair and then began “violently dragging her naked man” into a hallway on the 59th floor.

In June, Gore signed a one-day contract with the San Francisco 49ers to retire as a member of the franchise.

Only Pro Football Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith (18,355) and Walter Peyton (16,726) have run more yards than gore.

As we previously reported, Atlantic City police said officers were initially called to the scene on 31 at around 8:11 a.m., but made no arrests when they said the woman “shows no signs of injury”.

Court documents obtained by TMZ show that police say Gore grabbed a woman by her hair while she was naked and dragged her into the hallway of his hotel room.

Police said in court documents that Gore “violently dragging her naked man on the floor of the 59th hallway” after “forcibly” grasping her hair. The 28-year-old alleged victim spoke to hotel security about the incident.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after 8 a.m. on July 31, and did not immediately make an arrest because the woman “showed no signs of injury.”

Gore, 39, is to be heard in October.

The former running back for the 49ers, Colts, Dolphins, Bills and Jets is the third all-time in NFL rushing yards. Their 16,000 yards on the ground are only Walter Peyton and Emmitt Smith.

Gore, 39, signed a one-day contract with the San Francisco 49ers in June so that he could retire as a member of the team. At the time, the franchise also stated that Gore was Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. will be the 31st person to be inducted into the 49ers Hall of Fame.
