If you’ve explored our list of new biomes in Minecraft 1.19, you already know that this update is about to go wild. both literally and figuratively. And all the new mobs in the Minecraft 1.19 update are only here to push our expectations to a new high.

However, if you haven’t tried the Minecraft 1.18 update yet, we suggest you do it first. In this article, we will only cover all confirmed mobs for the 1.19 update on both Minecraft Java and Bedrock versions. But don’t forget to bookmark this guide, because we’ll keep adding more mobs as they get confirmed and the release date nears.

List of All New Mobs in Minecraft 1.19

1. Tadpoles

Our next new mob in Minecraft 1.19 Wild Update is the baby version of the frogs – the tadpoles. They are born from eggs that frogs release above the surface of the water. Usually found in groups, tadpoles are now the second smallest mob in Minecraft. You can also imprison them in buckets of water to move. But unlike frogs, tadpoles cannot survive for long outside water. They also have a very small health bar and can die in a single hit.

2. Fireflies

As you can guess, Firefly is the smallest mob in Minecraft 1.19. Contrary to earlier speculation, they do not interact with frogs. Therefore, their appearance seems to be based more on aesthetic purposes.

You can find the glowing firefly only in swamp biomes, and that too mostly during the night time. Compared to other new mobs in Minecraft 1.19, fireflies are not the most popular addition. Still, his presence is going to make the in-game nights more alive.

3. Blue axolotls

Axolotl is a true real-life amphibian that lives in caves. They are incredibly rare and are indeed critically endangered. The entire species is native to the Valley of Mexico. In Minecraft, axolotls come in 5 different colors, with the child axolotl inheriting the color at random from one of its two parents. Unlike sheep, its color cannot be mixed.

Among the variants, the blue axolotl is the rarest. They cannot be born naturally and can only be obtained through reproduction. This is very difficult, as the probability of getting a blue axolotl is only 0.083%. You will need a massive axolotl breeding farm to get this type.

4. Pink Sheep

The Pink Sheep is one of the earliest rare animals to be added to the game. Unlike the previous entries on this list, which require a specific biome or season, pink sheep are only rare spawns. There is only a 0.1558% chance that any adult sheep will be born as a pink sheep. The other less common variant, brown, is also much less common at only 2.85%.

In addition, there is also the Baby Pink Sheep, which is even rarer, naturally only at 0.0082% spawning. However, there is a way to skip all of this – players can simply make a pink dye and repaint the sheep they want with it.

5. Elytra

Added during the 1.0 update, Elytra is a rarity that can only be found in End Ship. Wings are the first and only item that will allow players to fly in Minecraft. After players defeat the End Dragon, they must move up the dangerous lands to the End Cities, where an overcrowded mob called the Shukers will prevent players from reaching the Treasure Room at the end of the End Ship. Elytra will be hanging on an item frame in that room.

Flying in Minecraft is a dangerous and risky activity, especially for those in hard mode. Thankfully, there are ways players can avoid falling damage when flying at low speeds or at shallow angles. Elytra can be enchanted for repair and can be repaired by Phantom Membrane.
