Top 7 Best Weapons to Use in Apex Legends (may 2022)
The debate about the best guns in Apex Legends is one that will be waged for eternity. Like wars within the game, battles will erupt forever from behind the keyboard as players defend their beloved wingman or mastiff against others.
However, there are patterns you may notice. One thing that is completely clear is that having the right weapons will help you earn the coveted title of Apex Champion. The weapon system can be a bit hard to figure out, especially with the constant patches and hotfixes that appear every season.
One moment your favorite weapon is your strongest and the next it may be one of your weakest. That’s why we’ve put together a weapon tier list to help you figure out which weapons are currently on top.
1. Triple Take — Energy Sniper Rifle
Even though Triple Tech suffered a minor loss in Season 12, it still ranks as one of the best snipers in the game.

The Energy sniper rifle is a weird old weapon. It is branded as a long-range gun and has all the attachments to make it into a lethal sniper rifle, but once energized the rifle actually performs better in the early stages of the game.
This is due to its dispersion, which fires three projectiles. If you can land three of the 50-60 damage bolts, you’ll knock enemies down – basically like another shotgun.
Now that the Energy sniper is back on the battlefield, we can say with confidence that this is a strong A-tier gun, and a clear sniper rifle favorite.
2. VOLT SMG
The Volt SMG is arguably the best SMG in the game, despite going through a lot of nerfs since its return in Season 6. Unlike other energy weapons, there is no start-up time when firing the Volt which makes it easy to fight.

Enemies without attachment. In addition, the recoil is very easy to manage and has little or no bullet drop. We love the addition of 2x Bruiser sights and an extended energy magazine, which really shred through opponents even at mid-range.
Energy ammo is at a premium, with players hoping to keep Volt, Havox and Devotion at the top at all times. However, with the crafting system, you can craft some more ammo in a pinch.
3. M600 Spitfire
A direct competitor to the Rampage LMG, the Spitfire – currently a care package weapon – has its own place compared to its smaller sibling.

While it hits significantly less per shot than Rampage, its 19 damage body shots put it ahead of the flatline in damage-per-shot, and its high rate on Rampage means it has a much higher DPS.
Combine all of this with an astonishing 55 bullets per magazine (63 if you’re playing as Rampart), and the Spitfire is a force to be reckoned with.
If your goal is on point, players can wipe out the entire team without reloading. Deadly in the hands of a pros and unforgiving in the hands of a noob, the Spitfire is an all-around beast.
4. R-301 Carbine
The R-301 Carbine is one of the best weapons to use for experienced or inexperienced players in this Apex Legends Mobile Weapons tier list. It is easy enough to control making it a good choice for newbies.

In addition, it has high accuracy and rate of fire which makes it an excellent weapon for long and medium range combat. On the flipside, the assault rifle has a low base magazine capacity of 18.
Players must attach an extended mag if they wish to use the weapon for longer periods. It has relatively less damage with 14 body damage and 25 headshot damage.
5. Worst: Alternator
While SMGs generally prove to be a versatile and effective method for spraying substantial amounts of damage, the alternator is easily the worst in this category.

While it at least claims a decent rate of fire, it doesn’t mean much if the damage is terrible, which is the case here. Considering the sheer size of the small size, you’ll be reloading quite a bit with this thing.
With an awkward crosshair, brutal recoil and few shots per mag, it’s a pretty ineffective weapon that often won’t do much for an opponent.
It falls under the category of a “desperation” weapon when you’re scrambling to grab something or regenerate at the start of the game. The Alternator has received a slight increase in damage (13 to 15) for Season 2, but is still at a lower level overall.
6. Wingman
Apex Legends doesn’t have a lot of quality pistols. Most of this archetype is good for initial landings and scrapings, but after that you’ll want to throw them in the trash.

The one exception to this is the powerful wingman. The Wingman is a heavy type pistol that can deal devastating damage in the steady hand.
Throw on a Sculptor hop-up mode and you’ll deal even more damage per shot. Even if you don’t have the accuracy that the opponent bots a target, the body damage is still more than enough to drive an enemy to cover.
7. VK-47 FLATLINE – A Tier:
The Flatline is an excellent decision if you have heavy ammo to consume. Each shot does excellent damage, and the Hipfire delivers excellent results, and you can usually switch to single-fire mode to make use of its long-range execution.

Each body shot hit by a flatline does 19 damage, while a headshot does 33 damage. The gun uses heavy ammo and can be used as a burst or full auto weapon. The DPS of this gun is 190 making which is very good considering the fire rate of this gun.
The standard flatline’s magazine holds 20 bullets. If you can find an anvil receiver for this gun, you’re in luck. The Evil Receiver increases your headshot damage to 2.25 instead of 2.00, but it also makes each shot take two bullets. Also, always get a scope for this, even if it’s a 1x scope because ADS with scopes will help you a lot.

Leveling up in Apex Legends will soon become more rewarding, though that’s probably not where it’s needed. Apex Legends developer Respawn has outlined a major change to the in-game progress system. Previously, the profile level was capped at 100, which many regular players reached shortly after launch.
