Top 5 best Epic RPG Stories in the game

When I play video games, I’m here for the story! Sometimes I want to control my own movie and not play a Hunger Games style match with a group of other people.

If you’re like me, you’re getting increasingly frustrated over the years as more and more battle royale games have emerged with fewer and less solid RPGs.

That means it’s time to take a look again to discover some great story-driven games we missed when it was released or even recap some of the old favorites. If you’re feeling the ole RPG itch but can’t figure out what to play, check out this list for the top 5 RPG stories!

Which RPG has the most epic story

one of the many things that video games can do well is tell a good story. Sometimes, the story is so good, it leaves a lasting impression on you, an effect similar to what you might feel after reading a great book or watching a great movie.

Games can offer you the same experience, but it’s honestly better, because you get to play the game and let the story become the story. Here are 5 amazing story-driven RPGs you have to play.

1. Legend of Grimrock 2

We liked the original Legend of Grimrock and the way it adopted the old Dungeon Master model of building your party—mostly a collection of figures—explore the world one square at a time.

One drawback is that it was too literal of a dungeon crawler. Enemies can change, but for the most part you’ll be trampling what looks like a single series of corridors until the end of the game.

The sequel, however, focuses on both the dank dungeon and the bright, open world above, resulting in a nostalgic romp that’s insanely enjoyable and filled with even deadly enemies and more challenging puzzles. Like the first outing, much of its power derives from the element of surprise.

One moment you’ll be able to hack enemies with ease, and the next you can find yourself face to face with an incomprehensible monster. And then you’ll run, and you’ll find that sometimes there are almost as many adventures in flight as in fighting.

2. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla brilliantly returns elements of the stealth aspects of the franchise without compromising on the elements fans love about the new Creed games.

Valhalla secretly initiates a comeback, even giving you a tail mission in the main campaign that hearkens back to the days of the Brotherhood. It also gives you the chance to take part in Viking raids, and to enjoy loot for carrying a ram to the gates of a castle.

In this game, you can fulfill an assassin contract from the security of anonymity, and ten minutes later you can stand on the sternpost of a longship, sounding a Viking horn, heralding the arrival of your crew.

Valhalla has a beautiful, arresting tale set in grand 9th-century England – the two will stay with you after the controller is put down.

3. Sorcery 1-4

Square Enix has been working a handful of times over the past few years to release its collection of RPGs on Android. Luckily, most of them are great RPGs. Some of the items you can find are Final Fantasy I-VII (and IX), Dragon Quest I-VI (and VIII),

Secret of Mana, Adventures of Mana, Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, Chrono Trigger, and many more other. They also have mobile RPG games such as Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Nier Re [in] Carnation, and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia.

You can also pick up strategy RPGs like Heavenstrike Rivals and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lion. Square Enix’s collection of RPGs is quite extensive and gets bigger every year.

4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the final installment in CD Projekt Red’s action-RPG series. In the Wild Hunt, Geralt of Rivia kills mythical monsters, collects the bounty, and protects the Child of Destiny.

Developer CD Projekt Red builds on the preceding Witcher game by introducing a ridiculously large open world filled with evil of both monster and human forms.

The Witcher 3 also significantly improves on the series’ combat by streamlining alchemy and tightening up the crafting. The rich narrative of The Wild Hunt—one of the best stories in video game history—pushes the game’s tragedy, folkloric horror, humor, and intrigue.

5. . Final Fantasy Tactics

There’s a reason Final Fantasy Tactics is a cult classic: It has one of the best plots in the Final Fantasy series, offering a brutal dive into a world rife with political instability and unrest.

You are caught in a war between two kingdoms, as you take control of a mercenary who is heavily engaged in conflict through his actions on the battlefield.

The combat itself is great, but when you combine it with emotional storytelling as well as a fantastic roster of characters you’ll meet and interact with, every fight becomes a high-stakes battle. This leads to some really sad moments during a play.
