Minecraft Mobs: Complete List and Detailed Guide in 2022

Of all the popular sandbox games you can play in 2022, Minecraft has the most diverse and widest group of mobs. Because of this, finding out everything about them all becomes understandably challenging.

The world of Minecraft is filled with tons of fantasy elements and mysterious creatures known as mobs. Each mob in the game is an AI-based entity that looks like a living creature and interacts with the player, the world, and other mobs in their own unique ways. Mobs in the game have distinctive features that mainly revolve around their behavior, abilities, and drops.

Minecraft neutral mobs

If provoked, neutral mobs in Minecraft will attack you, which can be useful if you’re after an item drop or XP. Some neutral mobs such as wolves will attack other mobs such as rabbits or sheep, and llamas are aggressive towards untamed wolves. Minecraft bees can be found in flowering forests and plains, or honeycombs you can make using wooden planks and honeycombs.

Allay

Allay is the newest, somewhat-controllable mobster addition to Minecraft’s new Wilds update in June 2022. Allay was voted in by the Minecraft community in 2021, and as a result, it has been added to the game. Its design is similar to the pre-existing hostile VX mobs that can be summoned by Evoker mobs found in Woodland Mansion.

Allay specializes in finding items for the player. When players are holding an item, they can interact with Ale, who will then grab the item and look for similar items on the ground within a 64-block radius and bring them to the player. As long as players have given Allay an item, Allay will follow the player who has technically tame them and make them loyal to the player.

To find the alleys, players must seek out the pillar outposts, in which the alleys roam inside wooden cages. They can also be found in prison cells inside Woodland Mansions, but players are more likely to find them at Pillar Outposts as they are more common structures and spawn in multiple biomes.

Foxes

The only way to tame a fox is to breed two adults with Sweet Berry and the kit will ‘trust’ the player. The fox will attack any mob that threatens the player but is too weak to be an effective deterrent.

The downside of foxes is that they will kill chickens and rabbits and can jump over fences that players use to protect said animals. They also have a habit of snatching anything left on the ground. Interestingly, a fox would gain from whatever weapon they have in their mouth that would be useful in battle if they didn’t die so quickly.

On some rare occasions, a fox walks around with one of several objects in its mouth. These items are; Feathers, leather, wheat, egg, rabbit skin, rabbit’s foot and emerald. Foxes will drop these items when killed or will grab a food item instead. To find a fox, players will need to head into the cold taiga biome, and even then, they are fast creatures that can be difficult to entice with Sweet Berries.

Evokers

In Minecraft lore, Evokers are basically villagers “made mad by the magic they read.” Unruly mobs don’t make for very good encounters, and those two main attacks – Ground Chomp and Summon Ether Wax – can deal a lot of damage in a very short amount of time.

If you’re hanging out in woodland mansions hoping to score totem, you’re sure to run into these enchanted villagers.

Thankfully, they’re not as scary as ravers.Unfortunately, they can mount those cowboys to deal double the damage and double the fear.

But in themselves, these hostile mobs in Minecraft aren’t too bad. Just stay on your toes, make sure your gear is level-high enough, and try to keep a cool head. After all, a Totem of Undying is worth a run-in (or two) with these crazy wizards.
