top 5 best superhero games on PC

There was a time when anyone would turn a blind eye to hearing about a new superhero game coming out.

Many fans felt that very little love or effort had been put into these games, and that they were only doing it for the money. This is no longer the case.

There are now many superhero games out there that are made with a love of the genre and that are worth gamers’ time, some of which even pop up in conversation when it comes to the best games. We list the best fifteen PCs we have to offer below.

1. Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice: Gods Among Us finally gave us a modern version of what Tekken would look like through a comic book lens. Far more so than Marvel vs Capcom or Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe games.

Injustice lets you really get inside the mechanics and strategy of superhero bust-ups. The only drawback is the 2D fighting space, these days you almost can’t help but wish for a few more angles as you go toe-to-toe.

However, the quality of the graphics, the story (it’s really dark, involving the Joker, Superman, and Batman), and the sheer joy of finishing off the super-powered beat-down comfortably compensate for it.

2. Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Although slightly smaller than Freedom Force, this is one of the earliest games on our list. Marvel Ultimate Alliance came at a time when fans of superhero games had fewer options, but it’s still worth a look.

It builds on Raven Software’s experience with X-Men Legends’ dungeon crawler design, but goes a step further by adding all of the best characters and locations in the Marvel universe. It’s not Lego Marvel’s open world concept, but it’s almost as elaborate in terms of character and story. And there’s nothing more fun than a four-player cooperative mode.

3. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2

If you want a challenging and gritty superhero game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is not the case. If you want one that you can absent-mindedly play with the youngsters and sizzle with some pretty laughs, then this is one of your best options.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 doesn’t reinvent the wheel much (if at all) from its many, many Lego predecessors. Once you’ve played, you’ve effectively played them all. Although bringing together a huge cast of Marvel characters from multiple eras as well as bringing together so many things to see and do, it’s a fun distraction for the whole family.

4. Batman: Arkham Knight

The latest installment in the long-running Arkham series of DC Comic’s very cautious superhero, Batman. With Arkham Origins revealing the past of various characters within the world of Arkham, Batman Arkham Knight seemed to fulfill the legacy left by the previous games.

The game was released in 2015 with flawless hand-to-hand combat and massive graphical and gameplay upgrades from its predecessors. Visual improvements to past problems and next-generation graphics and sound design, coupled with gripping storylines, mark Batman Arkham Knight as one of the best superhero games out there.

5. Saints Row 4

Games that make fun of superheroes can be just as fun as games that take them seriously – not that Saints Row makes a difference, it will make fun of anything. The SR4 is especially good because the superpowers are insanely entertaining to use in an unrestrained, game-breaking way.

Combining super run and super jump to vault skyscrapers is a win-win feeling, and I wish superhero games were more like the irrepressible power fantasy captured more often. Besides, the jokes are good. More jokes please. —Tom Sr.
