The game is the fourth main installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and a direct sequel to 2010’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. The story follows Ezio Auditore da Firenze, now a custodian of the Assassin Brotherhood, as he travels to Constantinople to track down and murder the Byzantine Templar.

4. Grand Theft Auto 4

Grand Theft Auto IV is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 29 April 2008 for the PlayStation platform and Xbox 360, and on 02 December 2008 for Microsoft Windows.

The game is the eleventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Set within the fictional Liberty City set in New York City, the game follows Nico Bellick and his attempts to escape from his past under pressure from loan sharks and mobsters.

The game received critical acclaim, with praise directed at its narrative, open-world design and gameplay, but the game’s use of in-game advertising and an “online pass” code was controversial.

5. Sleeping dogs

Sleeping Dogs is an action-adventure video game developed by United Front Games and published by the European subsidiary of Square Enix. It was originally released in 2012 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows. Set in contemporary Hong Kong, the story follows Wei Shen, an undercover Chinese-American police officer on assignment to infiltrate the Sun On Yi Triad organization.

Gameplay focuses on Shane’s fighting, shooting, and parkour abilities, and gadgets that can be used for combat and exploration. Players must complete missions to unlock content and continue the story, but instead they can roam freely in the game’s open environment and engage in both legal and criminal activities. The latter can provoke a police response, the intensity of which is regulated by a “heat” system. Actions such as fighting, driving and racing grant Shane statistical rewards and earn player achievements.
