Lions HBO 'Hard Knocks' 2022: Best Fan Tweets, Memes from Episode 1
While 31 NFL teams prepare for the regular season with standard fanfare, since 2001, the HBO series “Hard Knocks” has documented a team’s journey through pre-season and training camp. HBO selected the rebuilt Detroit Lions as the subject of the 2022 iteration of Hard Knox. Here’s all the information you need to watch the first episode of Hard Knox’s 18th season, with the first episode airing tonight.
The Lions are coming out of a 3–13–1 season in 2021 and have not won the first 12 matches of the regular season. Interestingly, this will be quarterback Jared Goff’s third appearance on Hard Knox as he was featured with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 and 2020.
This year’s edition of Hard Knox will consist of five episodes and air every Tuesday at 10:00 pm. ET on HBO from now until the start of the regular season.
How can I watch Detroit Lions training camp series?
Detroit Lions team president Rod Wood also spoke about the HBO series on Twitter earlier this year.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to showcase the city of Detroit and the amazing culture we’re building at #Lions,” Wood said.
In a press release issued it describes the show as an “unfiltered all-access look” of what it took to make it to the NFL.
This is the first time the Hard Knox will travel to Detroit and the first training camp they have spent with an NFC North franchise.
Hard Knock Training Camp with the Detroit Lions will mark the 17th edition of the Emmy-winning series.
The Hard Knox have won a total of 18 Sports Emmys since they debuted in 2001.
According to the press release, this makes Hard Knox the most acclaimed serial sports series on television.
In the light of the announcement of Hard Knock’s return in 2022, fans took to Twitter earlier this year to share their thoughts.
One user wrote, ‘Can’t wait to see Malik Willis on this’
Another user wrote: “I don’t think anyone can even name 5 players who currently play for Lions”
NFL fans can currently watch Hard Knox: The Dallas Cowboys and Hard Knox in Season: The Indianapolis Colts on HBO Max.
The first episode of the show will air on Tuesday, August 9 at 10 pm. ET on HBO. For those of you who have cut the cord but still subscribe to HBO Max, episodes are expected to be posted on the streaming service when it debuts — right around 10 p.m. ET.
And if you’re interested, we’ll be hosting a live aftershow on our Twitch page once it airs around 11 p.m. ET mark.
I’ve embedded our Twitch stream at the bottom of this post, so you don’t have to leave this page once the episode airs.
Detroit will not only be the featured team in HBO’s “Hard Knox” documentary for the first time, but coach Dan Campbell’s second season will be unusually optimistic. This comes a year after the team suffered several heartbreaks in a 3-13-1 start to Campbell.
“Hard Knox” isn’t exactly tied to victory, as nine out of 17 teams have lost the season after appearing in an HBO documentary. But then again, neither are the Lions, one of the NFL’s historically oppressed teams.
It is worth noting that, seven teams featured on “Hard Knocks” have advanced to the playoffs – six of them with double-digit wins. Hey, if there’s ever a time to have hope for the coming season, it’ll be Precision Camp.
