Best PS5 games: The titles you need to play right now

Green Star

Between its stunning graphical capabilities, unparalleled 3D audio technology, and innovative DualSense controller, it's no surprise that the PlayStation 5 is flying off the shelves.  However, it is the game that matters.

Sifu puts players in the role of an unnamed fighter seeking to avenge his father's death.  A unique twist on developer Slocap's earlier martial arts game Absolver, Sifu mixes arcade-like action with roguelike sensibilities.

Dirt 5

The undisputed king of arcade-like rally racers, Codemaster's Dirt series continues to grow with each release.  Dirt 5 brings the series to the next generation through the introduction of dynamic weather systems

Demon’s Souls

Originally creating the "SoulsAlike" genre, the original Playstation 3 game Demon's Souls received a tepid response when it was released in the States a decade ago.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Arguably the best-looking PlayStation 5 game available, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a showcase for everything just about Sony's latest console.  From the use of visual presentation and spatial audio to the DualSense implementation, developer Insomniac Games has set a new standard within the current generation of consoles.

The PS5 exclusive Returns sees protagonist Selene trying to break out of an infinite time loop after she crashes on a mysterious planet called Atropes.  To help him do this, players use high-tech weapons to shoot through randomly generated areas in one of the best roguelikes available for consoles.

Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn was a third-person adventure role-playing game where players step into the shoes of Alloy, a hunter attempting to escape a world haunted by machine-like creatures.

The first next-gen release from Dishonored creator Arkane Studios, Deathloop is a PlayStation 5 console with plenty of style and phenomenal gameplay to match.

Resident Evil Village

If Resident Evil 7: Biohazard takes the series back to its more sinister survival horror roots, Resident Evil Village takes that foundation and dials up the action to Resident Evil 4 levels.

Madden NFL 22

Madden NFL 22 makes some great refinements to the second PS5 entry.  The biggest changes come in the Franchise Mode, with different ways to build the team that wins the championship.
