Shiny Pokemon are some of the rarest and most valuable that players can get their hands on in Pokemon Go.  A community of users has arisen to hunt this type of Pokemon and collect as many as possible.  These players are known as "shiny hunters".

These rare variants of Pokémon don't offer better stats or a host of signature moves.  Rather, what sets these Pokémon apart from the standard variants is their distinctive new colors and spectacular effects on encounters.

The rarity and unique color scheme of these Pokémon directly contribute to their value.  However, unlike the main series of Pokémon titles, not every Shiny Pokémon is present in Pokémon Go.

Meloetta is one of the legendary Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go in 2022.  Notably, it was added during the 2022 Fashion Week event.  Players noticed a marked absence of not only the shiny version of the meloetta but its alternative pirouette form.  Maybe they catch it next year.

Like Meloetta, Victini Unova is another legendary Pokémon from the region that has yet to receive its shiny version.  This is despite being one of the very few Pokémon that got not one but two movies during its debut.
