5 best Water-Type Pokemon in Pokemon GO, ranked

K

One of the most notable traits in both Pokémon Go and the entirety of the franchise is the huge amount of differences between Pokémon.  Each species has its own distinct characteristics and quirks that set them apart from each other.  The most prevalent feature is the difference in fundamental typing.

All 905 different species in the franchise contain either one type or a combination of the two.  These types play a huge role in determining matchups in a fight, in terms of how fighters have an advantage over each other.

With a total of 18 variants in the main franchise, these matchups get interesting.  One of the types infamous for its high use in Pokemon Go is water.  These types of Pokémon are often touted as some of the tankiest in the franchise.

However, players who build competitive teams may want to know which water-types work best in the sport.

The only Legendary Pokémon to make the cut to fifth place on the list is from the Hoen region, Kyogre.  While it may surprise users that such a powerful Pokémon is only at number five, the reason it lacks any unique variants like Shadow or Mega Evolution.

Not surprising to many, Mega Blastoise is one of the best Water-type Pokémon players in Pokémon Go.  After the recent Mega Evolution event, many people have new access to this Pokémon, so users are encouraged to use it in any raid or gym battles.
