RPGs have one of the most loyal followings of any gaming genre. Whether it’s Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft, people spend dozens (sometimes hundreds, or even thousands) of hours crafting characters, playing up stories, and enjoying themselves.
RPGs were also one of the first genres to really make it to Android and there are a ton of them to choose from. Here are the best RPGs for Android. Please note, we will be dealing with jRPG and “standard” action RPG. We link to the different types of RPG sub-genres below.
Butterscotch Shenanigans makes some quirky and hilarious games, and Crashlands is no exception. In what might be the funniest mobile RPG ever, you play as Flux Dabes, a space trucker who is forced to crash (get it?) onto an alien planet.
As you try to survive on this strange planet, you’ll have to repair your ship, build bases, tame wildlife as your pets, and fight locals while crafting weapons and items from their corpses Should (It sounds morbid, but it’s great) This is an award winning RPG that most of you are sleeping on. If you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you really waiting for?
2. Chaos Rings Ⅲ
Chaos Rings, one of the best rpgs of all time, was first introduced in 2010 and since then, the RPG series game is a craze among gamers. There was a lot of appreciation from the gamers and with that, the Chaos Rings team came up with Chaos Rings Omega in 2011 and Chaos Rings II in 2012.
Chaos Rings III, one of the top free rpg games, again refined the gaming experience and was packed with a deep storyline and high-quality soundtrack. The soundtrack of the game holds a special place, as it has been downloaded over 1.1 million times.
The storyline of this game involves a floating continent high in the sky, where the player plays as a character who aims to fulfill his dreams and desires. The player will get to see unexplored lands, monsters, hidden treasures, and much more.
3. Botworld Adventure
Take your RPG gaming to a more luminous place with games like Botworld, an open world adventure RPG where you can collect all kinds of different robots and use them in battle. There are four playable races, including cats, dogs, lizards, and buffaloes.
There’s less of a story-driven narrative here than in some other RPG games, but there’s a huge map in a variety of different environments to explore, which is pretty cool when you think about it.
In addition, there will be several NPC people to meet in each area, who have their own stories to share with you. Take on quests, fight against monsters, and upgrade and customize your favorite robots.
4. Cultist Simulator
It’s been described as extraordinarily a roguelike narrative card game, but Cultist Simulator essentially has you playing a scholar of the dark arts. Precious little handholding happens as you experiment with mystical symbols and steadily increase in power and influence. The RPG-like feel of it makes it something really unique.
If you can’t imagine how a narrative card game could turn into a role-playing game, then trying Cultist Simulator is a must. Not sure about it yet? Read the Cultist Simulator review we’ve prepared for you.
5. Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is a surprising game that evokes the strong Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vibes. It’s an open world RPG with travel restrictions few and far between. It is more than just beautiful scenery.
The story of Genshin Impact offers players a long and rewarding adventure that is accompanied by a spectacular soundtrack. However, as a free-to-play game, Genshin Impact relies heavily on monetization.
It is one of the more egregious examples of the genre, and intentionally slows the player down until they are willing to fork over some cash. However, it’s hard not to overlook the exceptionally high level of polish and material on the show.
