Multiverse, Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games’ free-to-play crossover platform Fighter featuring characters such as Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark and Iron Giant, will begin its open beta on July 26, 2022.
The open beta will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC with “full cross-play support and dedicated server-based rollback netcodes for strong online competition.”
MultiVersus will also have an Early Access Period that begins on July 19th and will be accessible by those who participated in MultiVersus Closed Alpha. The Iron Giant was featured in the Multiverse’s open beta gameplay trailer and is part of a roster that includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Velma, Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil, Arya Stark, Tom and Jerry, Jake the Includes Doug, Finn. Human, Steven Universe, Garnet, and the original character Raindog.

MultiVersus Open Beta Contents
1 Characters: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny and the Tasmanian Devil aka Taz (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Jake the Dog and Finn the Human (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Tom and Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant),
and an extraordinary original creature named Raindog. Please note, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Jake the Dog and Taz will be available to play immediately when the open beta begins. All other characters can be unlocked through gameplay.
2 Maps: The Batcave (DC), Tree Fort and Tree Fort 1 vs 1 (Adventure Time), Scooby’s Haunted Mansion (Scooby-Doo), EDGE of the Trophy, EDGE of the Trophy . 2, Classic 3 Platform, and Training Room.
3 Modes: 2 vs 2 team-based cooperative mode, 1 vs 1 match, 4-player free-for-all, 1-4 player local match, cooperative vs AI. Matches, custom online lobbies, labs (practice mode), and tutorials – all offer different ways to play and experience the game.
MultiVersus is free to play but will have in-game purchases
The more good news is that Multiverse will be free to play, so there’s no cost in jumping in and giving it a go once it’s released. Like most F2P games, in-game purchases will be available but no details have yet been given as to what form they will take.
The developers have confirmed that there will be “upcoming content-filled seasons for players to enjoy”, suggesting that a Season Pass system may be implemented that can unlock characters, outfits, and more.
