It looks like Rockstar Studios is jumping back in nostalgia from the 2000s with its decision to reimagine one of its newest GTA titles, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
In many ways, it’s a refinement to the innovation brought by Grand Theft Auto 3, except in damp and cold New York weather, you drown in the warm sunshine of simulated Miami with more ubiquitous neon than traffic lights.
Like Grand Theft Auto 3 before it, Vice City is more difficult than its contemporary brethren. Nobody said being bad was easy and it’s also true that gaming was a different scenario back then. So it’s time to heed these tips so as not to ruin Tommy Versetti’s sun-tan and Cuban shirt with this illegal Miami local criminal.
Play Vigilante Missions With A Tank To Get Rich
Now the big question in every GTA game: How to make paper? In other titles, the adventures are not as easy, but in Vice City, there are actually many of them that allow you to get rich quickly in less than an hour of fun activity.
The most enjoyable of all these get-rich-quick jobs is the tenure of Vigilant Mission. This is where you steal a police vehicle and press the indicated button to start the vigilance sequence. Then you have to kill some runaway fugitives in their getaway vehicles.
Now, the hard part is that the vehicle will still be totaled and you can still earn the desired level. But if you want to tweak the rules a bit, you can type in a cheat called “panzer” to make a tank. The tank is invincible and has a cannon.
So it doesn’t matter how many wanted levels you get through vehicular killing, you’ll be safe. Just keep pursuing Vigilante missions like this and you’ll be rich in no time.
Get To The Other Island Early
Vice City is made up of two main islands, but at the start of the game, a storm warning is given over the radio letting the player know that the bridges will be closed as a result.
It’s the game’s way of confining you to an island until you’ve completed some story missions. But it is possible to gain access to another island before the ban is lifted.
To do this, you need to go to the bridge in the northernmost part of the map. There you can wait for a large boat to spawn in the center of the bridge and pass under.
If you time it right, you can jump off the bridge and land on the boat. Stealing it basically allows you to move it to any part of the overall map. And unlike later games in the series, you are not penalized for doing so with the desired stars.
Improve Your Chance Of Completing Rampages
The furious missions featured in prior GTA games return in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. These typically ask the player to visit Vice City’s denizens to wreak havoc in the city, giving you the set objectives for death and carnage needed to pass the mission.
As intuitive as it sounds, you’ll want to make sure you have at least two stars at the desired level before starting any furious missions that require you to destroy a certain number of vehicles.
That’s because police cars spin more often when you’re on two stars. And since destroying them also counts towards total destruction, they give you a steady stream of vehicles to destroy and eliminate the need to look for vehicles when the timer runs out.
