Best RPG games of all time
The joy of role-playing games, or RPGs, is the ability for the player to become lost in a fantasy world, forgetting the realities of life – mortgages, debts, work, relationships – and playing as long as anyone else is full. That character can be human or alien. Male or female. straight or gay. Mage or warrior. the choice is yours.

In fact, Dark Souls III borrows gameplay and design elements from Bloodborne and other software action-RPG titles. As a result, Dark Souls III has an action-focused flavor and gorgeous, haunting graphics.
That said, Dark Souls III has its own feel, especially when it comes to battling monsters. Improved combat mechanics add more fighting depth, making skirmishes more challenging and rewarding.
2. Elden Ring
FromSoftware made a series of games in the 2010s that proved too hard for any mainstream attention, but found a handful of fans for its hands-on storytelling and tough challenge.

And now without the Souls moniker, it returns with a world built around new lore, its six hub regions guarded by creatures whose health bars are already making us nightmares.
Expect more enigmatic storytelling, the player being treated with the greatest of respect – by respectfully hitting them over and over again and knowing that they will rise to the challenge – and artfully animated fights in which you are a pro Tekken player. Like frames count.

Currently in Early Access on Steam, Baldur’s Gate 3 is slated for a 2022 release, depending on its run during Early Access. What we know about this game so far is that it will bring players back to the Sword Coast for this next adventure.
Fully embracing systemic RPG elements with turn-based combat, Larian Studios has made Baldur’s Gate 3 uniquely its own game without deviating too much from previous entries.
4. Disco Elysium
One of the best titles of 2019, and one of the most recent on this list, Disco Elysium is a dialogue-driven RPG set in a large, dystopian city.

Instead of avoiding combat entirely, the problems with the protagonist’s use are addressed by using the ‘thought cabinet’, a manifestation of the dialogue choices and thematic decisions that permeate every aspect and decision made throughout the story.
It’s a risky decision, but one that pays off in no small part due to personal, politically ambiguous writing that is almost entirely player driven. It is a must for PC players and is coming to console this year.
5. darkest dungeon
Although Darkest Dungeon isn’t a dungeon crawler in the traditional sense, it specifically features dungeon crawling, so it would be criminal not to include it here.
