Best PC RPG Shooter Games of All Time

When it comes to shooters, whether they are first person or third person, they are usually labeled as “native”. “Point and shoot,” but there are some of the best shooters out there that really embrace the RPG element. So allow us to show you the 10 best PC RPG shooter games of all time!

1. Ghost Recon Wildlands

In Ghost Recon Wildlands, you’re part of a ghost squadron of soldiers sent to Bolivia to stop a drug cartel that’s trying to turn the country into your own private narco-state. In other words, not pretty stuff.

But your team is there to stop it, and you not only have to customize your ghost so that you can be the soldier you want to be. You will be able to explore this version of Bolivia to take down the cartel to your liking.

And of course, you can either play the game yourself, or team up with other ghosts to complete missions. Will you be able to free the country from this menace? Jump in and find out.

2. The Ascent

The Ascent takes place in a cyberpunk world (no, we won’t make another 2077 joke… this time) where you’re an employee who is literally enslaved by a corporation that gives you certain weapons and abilities.

But then, one day, the corporation closes, and now you are very much alone.

To find out the truth, you’ll have to go back to where it all started, and fight through all the obstacles that stand in your way. Take your abilities in the game to the next level by changing your weapons, mastering new abilities, and teaming up with other players so that you all stay alive.

3. Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Deus Ex is at once a vanguard when it comes to role-playing shooters in depth. This 2011 rendition, still a fan favorite, reminds players why that is. The game draws from the traits that made the original so compelling—and infuses it with cinematic flair and even darker gameplay.

Human Revolution is an exciting cyberpunk-infused prequel that keeps gamers locked in its 21-hour campaign. While several years old, the title feels very modern, with its wealth of adaptations and organic progression systems. Stylish, satisfying and well-crafted, the ARPG of Adios Montreal is a must-play for fans of the genre.

4. Alpha Protocol

Few developers practice more in the art of RPG-shooter fusion than Obsidian. This stealth RPG is another shining example of its dominance in this area.

While it is now a decade old, Alpha Protocol thrills with cinematic greatness. This is thanks to its gritty, realistic visuals, epic cinematics and a gripping narrative. The game draws from the Bourne movies and detective romances such as James Bond. It ties in with Splinter Cell-esque gameplay and what Obsidian describes as “espionage RPG” concepts.

5. Fallout: New Vegas

While it was not viewed favorably by most fans in comparison to the likes of Fallout 3, Obsidian brought a fun new sensibility to this epic series. Wandering around the gritty remains of post-apocalyptic Vegas makes for some captivating exploration. Even if it’s a tad on the buggier side, New Vegas introduces some new elements as well, rounding out and refining this solid foundation set by Bethesda.

There’s an improved V.A.T.S system, extra features, cool new weapons, and as a fun bonus – a gambling feature. The game has been in the rearview mirror for almost a decade now, but it feels as rich and gorgeous as ever.
